As an Autistic teen, Maddie Thompson Morley had dreamed of the day she’d attend her high school prom. She just hadn’t dreamed quite big enough. Attending an all-school assembly before the special event, the 16-year-old got everything she’d hoped for … among other things.
Living with autism since childhood, Maddie Thompson Morley had blossomed into a beautiful young girl over the years. Heading to school for the day, Maddie had no idea what an all-school assembly had in store.
Evening of Dreams, a well-known Sacemento non-profit organization, had a hand in the super public, invitation to the school prom. And boy, was it good!
“Maddie Thompson Morley, will you please come up here?” one of the 16-year-old’s teachers requested standing center stage in the school auditorium.
Nervously taking her place on the platform, the autistic teen politely obliged. Just like that, Kooper Richardson jumped out from behind the stage curtain. He was only the hunkiest, dreamiest, and most popular football player in school!
Maddie was absolutely awestruck. She couldn’t believe he’d just asked her to prom, and in front of the entire student body for that matter!
Giving up his ticket in the class trip to Disneyland, Kooper proudly escorted Maddie to the special school dance (aww!).
Excited to have pulled off the epic surprise, Evening of Dreams revealed the last trick up their sleeve. Only this time, the autistic teen and her date would wait in anticipation until prom night itself.
